(Bandar Seri Begawan, 8th) Organized by the Temburong District branch of the Brunei Youth and Sports Department, the 2025 Temburong District Badminton Open has recently concluded successfully at the Temburong Sports Complex. At the closing ceremony, outstanding players were presented with awards in recognition of their excellent performances in the tournament.
This open tournament featured 5 doubles categories and attracted enthusiastic participation from badminton lovers of all age groups, including 17 teams in the Men's Under 21 category, 4 teams in the Women's Under 21, 21 teams in the Men's Open Doubles, 7 teams in the Women's Open Doubles, and 8 teams in the Mixed Doubles.
After several days of fierce competition, the champions in each group are: Men's Under 21: Chong Bobby & Reynold Rosli; Women's Under 21: Hazka & Vivi Morayao; Mixed Doubles: Ikhbar Mohamad & Nikma Rosli; Women's Open Doubles: Irma Rosmati & Norazra Osman; Men's Open Doubles: Hifaq Marli & Kavidili Arias.
The award ceremony was officiated by Acting District Officer of Temburong Mohamad Sofian, with Panion Group General Manager Bao Pingsheng, a sponsor representative, invited to present the awards.
The organizers stated that the tournament aims to encourage youth to actively participate in competitive badminton, promote local sports culture development, discover potential players and improve their standards, while also creating a positive, healthy, and competitive sports atmosphere. They hope to continue holding the event in the future and attract more new talents to participate.
