The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak recorded 119 cases involving seizures worth a total of RM21.5 million since the implementation of Ops Tiris 3.0 from January 1 to November 20.

Deputy Minister Fuziah Salleh stated that the highest offenses identified in the state involve diesel misappropriation and smuggling of subsidized cooking oil, especially at the country's border checkpoints.

ā€œIn states like Sarawak, which have many border checkpoints, it is a challenging task for KPDN authorities and other agencies involved in enforcement.

ā€œIf you look at the number of cases and the value of seizures in Sarawak, it is relatively large compared to the overall figure of 2,511 cases with RM86.93 million worth of seizures nationwide,ā€ she said at a press conference following a working visit in conjunction with the Kita Gempur program at a supermarket here today.

Fuziah advised the public to provide any information or complaints to KPDN regarding activities of misappropriation, leakage, and cartels of controlled and subsidized goods on the ground.

The Kita Gempur initiative is the government's strategic step to build a mass movement to address manipulation in business activities and leakage involving controlled and subsidized goods.

Kita Gempur was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last October to tackle leakage while ensuring subsidies reach the targeted groups.
