(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Brunei Chinese Culture Calligraphy and Painting Association was recently honored to be invited to Jerudong International School in Brunei to host a culturally rich Chinese calligraphy workshop for 29 students.
Attendees from the Brunei Chinese Culture Calligraphy and Painting Association included President Yang Zhensheng, Vice President Bao Pingsheng, committee members Fang Lili, Zheng Xiaoling, Fang Xiufei, Chen Aizhen, and others.
During the event, the instructors patiently guided the students through the nuances of calligraphic brushwork. Everyone was wholeheartedly immersed in experiencing the beauty of calligraphy. Seeing the students so focused on their practice was truly gratifying.
Even more delightful was that many students, some picking up the brush for the first time, quickly mastered the basics and attempted writing phrases such as “The greatness of heaven and earth, vast land and rich resources” and “Strive for improvement every day.” These works are not merely ink marks on paper, but also bridges to Chinese culture.
Throughout the workshop, the instructors from the association patiently guided students in each technique—starting the stroke, moving the brush, and lifting the pen—allowing students to fully immerse themselves in the wonders of calligraphy. Witnessing everyone so engrossed in their practice was truly heartwarming!
The association sincerely thanks the school for its warm invitation and the students for their enthusiastic participation, which brought joy and a vibrant learning atmosphere to the event. We hope to lead even more people to experience calligraphy, an art that inspires tranquility and meditation, in the future!
