Trump Criticizes Democratic Government's Disaster Relief Efforts
Additionally, California Governor Newsom released a letter to President-elect Trump on the 10th via X, inviting Trump to visit California and "witness firsthand the destructive power of the fires" and join him in thanking the brave firefighters and first responders. He urged Trump not to "politicize" this human tragedy or spread misinformation.
Trump has recently severely criticized the California Democratic government's disaster relief efforts. However, Newsom stated in the letter that hundreds of thousands of Americans have been "displaced and worried about the future" due to this wildfire, and they should see "our joint efforts to ensure their best interests and to ensure the rapid recovery and rebuilding of the disaster area."
