A Chinese male tourist was arrested in Chiang Mai Zoo, Thailand, on suspicion of indecent assault on a woman.
According to Thai Headlines, staff and security personnel at the Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium collaborated on the morning of the 30th to restrain a Chinese male tourist suspected of molesting a female intern at the aquarium. Subsequently, police arrived at the scene to investigate and took the suspect back to the police station.
It is reported that at the time of the incident, the victim was feeding turtles in a walkway area when the Chinese tourist emerged from an exhibition hall, suddenly approached and touched the victim's buttocks with his hand, then left nonchalantly. The victim was extremely shocked, and staff and security personnel came to understand the situation and called the police, while the surveillance camera completely recorded the incident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Chinese male tourist did not have a passport or any identification documents with him, claiming that his documents were left in the hotel room.
During the recording of his statement, the male tourist hemmed and hawed, claiming that he suffers from a disease. The police will visit his hotel room to check and further interrogate the suspect and formally press charges.
The victim and the Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium have stated that they will pursue the matter to the end and will not tolerate the suspect.
