(Washington, 3rd) U.S. President Trump said he would review Iran's latest negotiation proposal, but estimated it would be difficult to accept; if the Iranian regime “misbehaves,” he does not rule out resuming strikes against military targets in Tehran.
On Saturday (May 2), Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social: "I will soon review the proposal that Iran just sent us, but I think it will be unacceptable, because Iran has yet to pay a sufficiently heavy price for the crimes it has committed against humanity and the world over the past 47 years."
On the same day, at Miami Airport in Florida, he told reporters that he had received a briefing on the "concept of agreement" from Iran.
Earlier that day, Iranian media reported that Tehran had submitted a 14-point negotiation proposal to the U.S. through a Pakistani mediator, in response to Washington’s nine-point plan, with the main focus on ending the war.
The White House has yet to reveal details of Iran’s new proposal, but on Friday (1st), Trump told reporters he was dissatisfied with the Iranian plan.
Trump was also asked at Miami Airport whether he would resume strikes against Iran. He replied: “I don’t want to say that. What I mean is, I can't say that to reporters. If they misbehave or do something bad—we’ll wait and see—that is indeed a possibility.”
