Multiple Regions in Canada Hit by Extreme Heat and Flood Disasters

The highly destructive "heat dome" phenomenon is currently sweeping across most parts of Canada, bringing prolonged extreme heat and putting millions of people under high temperature alerts. At the same time, some areas in Canada have been hit by heavy rains and severe flooding.

Most parts of Ontario are hot and humid, making it one of the provinces most severely affected by this heatwave. In the southwestern part of the province, temperatures remain high during the day and fail to cool down effectively at night, while the eastern part is also enduring a prolonged and intense heatwave.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued heat warnings for Ontario, Quebec, and other regions, urging residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours. Daytime high temperatures and humidity indices in these areas have far exceeded the average levels for this time of year.

Due to the combination of scorching temperatures and unstable weather systems, some areas in Canada are also facing severe thunderstorms and related secondary disasters.

The Parkland region of Manitoba in central Canada was hit by heavy rain earlier this week, resulting in severe flooding. The western city of Dauphin in the province declared a state of emergency on the 1st.
