(Miri, 6th) Khor Ooi Long, Vice President of the Malaysia Moral Uplifting Society and Vice President of the East Malaysia Moral Uplifting Federation, stated that the Moral Education Centre led by the Kluang Zi Luan Lodge is actively assisting various lodges in establishing and promoting the growth of moral education classes.
He hopes that the lodges in Sarawak, East Malaysia, will actively respond by instilling moral teachings and education from an early age to cultivate the good character and moral values of the young Tongde.
Khor Ooi Long made these remarks during a speech last night at the Miri Che Lee Khor Moral Uplifting Society's 42nd anniversary celebration banquet held at the Miri Dynasty Hotel. He mentioned that the Moral Uplifting Society's educational philosophy is based on the “Ten Chapters and Eight Principles” to educate people towards goodness. These values are timeless truths applicable worldwide, emphasizing avoiding evil, promoting good, contentment, and harmonious coexistence.
On behalf of the Malaysia Moral Uplifting Society, he congratulated Zi Li Lodge on its 42nd anniversary celebration and extended heartfelt blessings, wishing that under the protection of the revered teacher, the lodge will prosper and its affairs will flourish, reaching greater heights.
Khor Ooi Long stated that since its establishment, the colleagues in Zi Li Lodge have been following the sacred teachings of the revered teacher, respecting teachers and valuing the path, using the “Ten Chapters and Eight Principles” as their educational philosophy, and actively promoting moral principles. At the same time, Zi Li Lodge actively cooperates with the series of charity and welfare advocacy activities promoted by the Federation, showing concern for community development and the welfare of the people.
Through activities such as free medical consultations and medicine, poverty alleviation during major ethnic festivals, donation of coffins, and other charitable acts, Zi Li Lodge has served the poor elderly of various ethnic groups, providing services to all ethnic groups locally.
In terms of advocacy, Zi Li Lodge has organized activities such as spirit-writing sessions and moral principle seminars as well as held lecture contests on the “Ten Chapters and Eight Principles,” guiding students and the general public to deeply understand the principles of moral teachings, thus unobtrusively spreading the values and beliefs of moral teachings to the vast community and younger generation.
