Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen stated on the 5th that US President Trump's renewed intention to control Greenland has placed "unacceptable pressure" on both Denmark and Greenland.
She warned that if the US were to take military action against NATO allies, then "everything would come to an end."
In an interview with Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Frederiksen pointed out that the US side is clearly attempting to control a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and regardless of whether this intention is expressed directly or indirectly, it constitutes "unacceptable pressure" and is an unreasonable attack against the international community.
When asked how Denmark would respond if the US were to take actions similar to those against Venezuela, Frederiksen said: "If the United States chooses to attack a NATO country, then everything would come to an end."
However, Frederiksen did not elaborate on this point.
She noted that the dispute over Greenland has lasted for more than a year, and the Danish side has always treated it with great seriousness. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and the US must never be allowed to gain control over it.
