(Selangau, 10th) Graduates of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) who possess technical skills are encouraged to actively enter the field of entrepreneurship.
Dato Sri Roland Sagah, Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development and Member of Parliament for Tarat, stated that they should fully utilize their professional skills to create new job opportunities.
He said that this is very important as it aligns with the Sarawak government’s policy of building a competitive workforce.
He pointed out that the abilities of TVET graduates are not only reflected in their technical skills, but also include the capacity to expand businesses and promote local economic development.
"Entrepreneurship-themed activities like this enable students to be exposed from a young age to the idea of starting businesses and developing an entrepreneurial mindset.
I hope that future TVET graduates can use their technical expertise to become successful entrepreneurs.”
Roland Sagah made these remarks yesterday while officiating the 2025 Entrepreneurship Day at Serian Chung Hua School's Mile 35 branch.
This event, organized by the school board of Serian Chung Hua School's Mile 35 branch, has entered its second edition. It aims to help students understand the concept of entrepreneurship from a young age, while encouraging creative and innovative thinking, and aligns with the Sarawak government's advocacy of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
