(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) The Perbadanan TAIB Group of Companies, including its subsidiaries—Perbadanan TAIB Insurance and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB)—successfully held the 2025 EmpowHer Run today along Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Road, and hosted the EmpowHer Marketplace at the TAIB car park, attracting over 1,200 participants who came together to celebrate women’s achievements and their contributions to the community.
This event coincided with the 2025 International Women’s Day, under the theme "For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment."
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, Datin Zetty, attended the event as the guest of honor and officially kicked off the running event. The essence of this run lies in its commitment to support local charities—Brunei Women’s Project and Association of Malaysian Women—and to convert the event’s impact into meaningful community outcomes. 20% of the registration fees will be donated to the Brunei Women’s Project and Association of Malaysian Women.
These two organizations were selected because their work embodies the spirit of the EmpowHer Run.
The Brunei Women’s Project provides a safe space for women and girls to connect, learn, and gain opportunities for economic independence. This year, it especially focuses on supporting young mothers facing educational barriers.
The Association of Malaysian Women, rooted in values of education, empowerment, and faith, carries out projects aimed at increasing health and family wellbeing awareness, guiding women to become agents of change, and improving financial literacy and resilience.
Through supporting these charities, the group ensures the proceeds from the EmpowHer Run directly benefit initiatives that uplift women, nurture families, and promote a higher-educated society—values that reflect both the group’s ESG commitments and the national Brunei Vision 2035.
This year’s race featured three categories: a 3km fun run, a 5km competitive run, and a 10km competitive run. Winners of the 5km category received prizes of BND700 (first place), BND400 (second place), and BND200 (third place), along with group merchandise.
Winners of the 10km category were awarded BND1,000 (first prize), BND600 (second prize), and BND400 (third prize), as well as group merchandise.
The EmpowHer Marketplace brought extra vibrancy to the event, gathering numerous local women-led and owned businesses, community initiatives, and TGOC partners. A total of 17 vendors participated, giving participants and visitors the chance to experience the excellence of local talent while celebrating the achievements of women entrepreneurs.
The successful 2025 EmpowHer Run would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, who ensured the event not only honored women but also delivered lasting welfare for the community.
The 2025 EmpowHer Run is a remarkable initiative that promotes health and unity, elevates the profile of women entrepreneurs, and supports local charities.
By fostering empowerment, education, and community-driven growth, the event helps realize the goals of Brunei Vision 2035, particularly in nurturing a well-educated, successful society, encouraging women to participate actively in economic activities, and enhancing social inclusion to ensure shared prosperity for all.
