Japanese media reported on the 5th that the leader of the local fraud organization "JP DRAGON," Ryuji Yoshioka, was arrested in the Philippines on the 4th. Japan plans to engage with the Philippines in an attempt to extradite him back to the country for trial.
"JP DRAGON" was established by former Japanese gang members and primarily operates in the Philippines, profiting from organizing illegal gambling and fraud activities.
The Fukuoka Prefecture Police had earlier issued an arrest warrant for the 55-year-old Ryuji Yoshioka on suspicion of fraud and later provided information about Yoshioka to the Philippine authorities through the National Police Agency of Japan.
The Philippine police launched an operation on the 4th in Angeles City, Pampanga Province, to arrest him while he was celebrating his birthday.
Besides Ryuji Yoshioka, Japanese police are closely monitoring the movements of other "JP DRAGON" members. Preliminary investigations indicate that "JP DRAGON" has close ties with another Japanese criminal organization in the Philippines called "Luffy."
