Wong Jing Reveals Michelle Reis Can't Access Billions in Inheritance: 'Couple Only Receives HK$1 Million Monthly Allowance'

Hong Kong’s well-known producer and director Wong Jing has recently started a channel on video platforms, sharing entertainment industry secrets and his personal views, which netizens describe as 'an open entertainment encyclopedia.' Most recently, while talking about inheritance, he revealed that actress Michelle Reis, despite marrying into a wealthy family, only receives a monthly allowance of HK$2 million (about RM1.077 million) from her tycoon husband Julian Hui for living expenses, sparking attention.

According to Hong Kong 01, following the inheritance dispute in the family of Chinese beverage giant Wahaha, Wong Jing discussed the issue of inheritance and used the Hui family from Hong Kong as an example, directly naming Julian Hui and Michelle Reis: 'They get HK$2 million a month. For them, it's not enough—they find it too little.' He believes that although HK$2 million a month is more than sufficient for ordinary people’s daily expenses, for Michelle Reis and Julian Hui, it seems small. Citing an example, he said, 'If you buy a Hermès bag, even a regular Hermès costs HK$800,000; so what is HK$2 million in comparison.'

Earlier reports indicated that Julian Hui’s father, Hui Sai Fun, left an inheritance approaching HK$40 billion (about RM21.545 billion), with the entire estate managed by a trust fund so that family members did not inherit directly; it’s rumored that he can only withdraw a monthly living allowance. Neither he nor his wife Michelle Reis have responded to this. Now that Wong Jing has spoken publicly about the matter, many people are convinced it's true.
