On the 19th, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement noting that Foreign Minister Araghchi, in a phone call with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar that day, stated that the United States is responsible for ending hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, and that the US side should be held accountable for any violations of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) provisions.
According to the statement, Araghchi expressed his appreciation during the call for Pakistan's efforts in promoting the negotiation process, putting forward relevant initiatives, and mediating, and also praised the eventual conclusion of the MoU.
Araghchi stated that the United States bears responsibility to ensure that conflicts on all fronts are brought to an end, including the situation in Lebanon. He emphasized that if the commitments in the MoU are violated by the relevant parties, the responsibility will lie with the United States, and he warned that this may have corresponding consequences.
Dar reiterated that Pakistan supports the continued advancement of negotiations and relevant diplomatic efforts in order to strive for positive and lasting results, expressing his expectation for the successful progress of the subsequent processes.
The two sides also communicated on some bilateral issues and emphasized that they will continue to maintain consultations and coordination.
