A 53-year-old Taiwanese woman and her husband recently checked into a resort hotel in Hokkaido, Japan. She not only trespassed into a women-only bathing area but also uploaded photos of several naked women she secretly took to Facebook, sparking criticism.
This well-known hot spring hotel, known as "Rusutsu Resort Hotel," became the center of attention after the bathhouse peeping incident, causing distress among local residents and tourists.
The identity of the aforementioned woman, whose surname is Chen, was revealed to be the daughter of Taiwan's bamboo carving master Chen Chunming.
According to a report by "Mirror Weekly," after the incident, Ms. Chen apologized on Facebook, stating that she had deleted all the photos taken at the bathhouse. She explained that she has severe presbyopia and truly did not see that she had photographed people, only realizing it afterward. She expressed her sincere apologies and emphasized that although she had visited Japan twice, she genuinely did not know that photography was prohibited in bathhouses.
Ms. Chen mentioned that her initial intention in taking the photos was merely to share the fact that the resort hotel had such large bath facilities, not anticipating the trouble it would cause for everyone. She apologized repeatedly, even admitting that she felt like she had "embarrassed herself in Japan" and would engage in self-reflection.
Previously, when Ms. Chen uploaded the bathhouse photos on Facebook, she wrote: "Hot spring at the hotel! There are indoor and outdoor baths. Have a glass of water after soaking! It's very comfortable." The post included 21 photos of the hotel's bathhouse interior, some even directly capturing scenes of female guests bathing nude or showering, leaving many people shocked.
