MIRI – Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri successfully collected a total of 82 bags of blood from 93 registered donors during its first blood donation campaign of 2026.
The campaign was organized in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Miri Hospital and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Miri Branch), and was held at the lobby of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri on 4 April 2026.
According to the Corporate Management Officer of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri, Shirley Szebah Mambai, the organization is very grateful for the encouraging response from the public.
“This reflects the community’s awareness that donating blood is not only a noble act that fosters social responsibility, but also has the potential to save lives,” she said.
This initiative aligns with Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri’s commitment to engaging with the community through impactful social programmes. In addition, it supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
As a token of appreciation, successful donors received light refreshments and 5kg of Ratu Huma rice.
The next blood donation campaigns organized by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri will be held on 6 May 2026, 15 August 2026, and 5 December 2026.
