Chinese actor Wang Xing was recently reported missing at the Thai-Myanmar border but was later rescued. Subsequently, it was reported that several Chinese nationals remain trapped in northern Myanmar. Actor Wu Jing, the star of the movie 'Wolf Warrior 2', who once proclaimed that a Chinese passport could bring people home from anywhere, has received messages on his Weibo urging him to go to northern Myanmar to rescue those trapped.
On the 3rd, Chinese actor Wang Xing temporarily went missing while filming in Thailand. He was kidnapped to a scam park in Myanmar but was later saved. It was further reported that many Chinese actors, models, and staff members were lured out of the country by scam organizations, with some still missing. Recently, Chinese media also reported that the families of 174 people trapped in Myanmar filled out documents collectively, demanding that the Chinese government rescue these 174 individuals back to China.
The incident continues to escalate, and Wu Jing, who touted the power of the Chinese passport in the film 'Wolf Warrior 2', has received numerous comments on his personal Weibo in recent days, asking him to go to the scam park to rescue people.
The final scene of the movie 'Wolf Warrior 2' shows a Chinese passport, with the words, 'When you encounter danger overseas, don't give up! Remember, there is a strong motherland behind you!'
At the premiere of 'Wolf Warrior 2', Wu Jing once said that he had always had a wish: 'The Chinese passport could become the most powerful in the world. Maybe it can't allow you to go anywhere in the world yet, but it can bring you home from anywhere.'
Wu Jing's latest post on his personal Weibo was a New Year greeting published on the 1st, but most of the comments beneath were unrelated to New Year wishes. Many netizens asked Wu Jing to explain, 'Why wasn't Wang Xing's passport effective?', 'Why can't Chinese people return from Myanmar? Isn't having a passport enough?'
Some netizens even bluntly stated that Wu Jing exaggerated the Chinese passport in his past promotions, misleading audiences and exploiting nationalism, calling Wu Jing to go to northern Myanmar and rescue the trapped Chinese individuals.
Many netizens also left messages on Wu Jing's wife Xie Nan's account, urging 'Wu Jing to quickly go to Myawaddy to save people'; some suggested, 'Quickly make a Wolf Warrior 3 movie: 'Breaking Out of Myawaddy'', causing a stir in the comments section.
However, some netizens believe that this matter has little to do with Wu Jing and that he should not be subjected to criticism.
