Korean boy group ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) member Seong Hanbin, 24, recently appeared on the online variety show “Let’s Eat,” and sparked controversy after imitating female moaning sounds on the program, with many calling it vulgar and adult-only remarks. He has since issued an urgent apology.
On the 6th, Seong Hanbin appeared on the variety show with fellow member Seok Matthew. Seok Matthew mentioned that Seong Hanbin usually has a fresh image, but when it comes to driving over speed bumps, he makes strange noises. Seong Hanbin first replied, “What?” and then explained: “When the car goes over a speed bump hard, your butt can hurt, right? At that time, we have a little inside joke in private, just trying to make everyone laugh.” After saying this, he made a sound resembling a female moan, prompting the host to remark on the spot, “This isn’t quite right, is it?”
After the video was released, there was a wave of criticism on Korean websites, with people saying it was “uncomfortable.” On the 7th, Seong Hanbin posted an apology on the fan interaction platform Bubble, admitting he went too far: “It was only meant for comedic effect, with absolutely no other intention. If I made ZEROSE (the fan club name) uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize.” The related video has since been deleted.
