Apart from celebrating Mazu's birthday, the event also featured a fellowship dinner, allowing attendees to savor authentic Hainanese delicacies while reminiscing about their hometown. Among the most popular dishes was the traditional Hainanese lamb soup, painstakingly prepared on-site.
It is understood that the Hainanese lamb soup was slow-cooked by the organizers for about five hours, using lamb meat blended with 16 kinds of ingredients and Chinese herbs over a gentle fire. In addition, fragrant Hainanese chicken rice and a variety of traditional dishes were also served, letting everyone fully experience the rich Hainanese culinary culture.
At the event, Sibu Hainan Association Chairman Han Huangguang remarked that he was very pleased to see the enthusiastic participation of advisors, directors, members, and their families in this celebration.
He pointed out that Mazu culture possesses profound historical and cultural significance, and that the association hosts related annual festivities not only to pass on traditional Chinese folk culture, but also to provide townspeople a platform to gather and communicate, further promoting mutual connection and emotional bonds.
At the same time, he especially thanked the association's Youth League for enthusiastically sponsoring the “Traditional Hainanese Lamb Soup” and assisting in organizing the event, thus adding warmth and festive atmosphere to the evening.
He stated that the Youth League’s involvement not only shows the younger generation’s support and recognition of traditional culture, but also injects new vitality into the association’s development. He hopes to continue gaining the support of members and townsfolk in the future, jointly advancing the association’s undertakings.
