Chinese actress Zhao Wei announced her divorce from Huang Youlong at the end of last year, and their former duplex unit residence in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, will be auctioned on the 7th. The unit has a usable area of 3,494 square feet, with four rooms, and will be up for auction with two parking spaces at a starting price of 49 million HKD (approximately 26.78 million MYR).
According to records, Zhao Wei and Huang Youlong purchased the unit in 2012 through a company for 72 million HKD (approximately 39.35 million MYR), including four parking spaces. However, both resigned from their company positions in August 2020, which implies that the unit might have changed hands via a transfer of company shares at that time.
It is reported that after successfully selling the unit, Huang Youlong reached an agreement with the new owner to not move out, renting the premise and six parking spaces, with a lease term of two years. Externally, everything seemed normal with no changes. However, since May 2022, the unit began to allegedly owe rent, rates, management fees, etc., and after the lease expired in August of the same year, Huang Youlong still occupied the unit. Consequently, the owner filed a lawsuit in the High Court, claiming over 2.8 million HKD (approximately 1.53 million MYR) in arrears.
Once holding over 200 million HKD (approximately 100 million MYR) in Hong Kong properties, he has gradually retreated from the Hong Kong real estate market in recent years, and his financial situation has since frequently attracted attention and sparked heated discussions.
