(Kuching, 3rd) The DAP Sarawak Supervisory Branch will hold a blood donation campaign tomorrow (July 4th, Saturday) at AEON Mall Kuching Central to help replenish the Sarawak General Hospital's blood bank reserves.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., jointly organized by the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank and the hosts, and is open to all eligible members of the public.
Event organizing chair Anthony Liew said that this event aims to raise public awareness of the importance of regular blood donation, while helping the hospital maintain an adequate blood supply to meet patients' needs.
He said: "Donating blood is one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways to contribute to society."
"We hope this event can not only replenish the blood supply for Sarawak General Hospital but also encourage more people to become regular blood donors. As long as everyone works together, more lives can be saved."
He pointed out that blood cannot be artificially manufactured, so every bag of donated blood could save a life.
He added that the event also aims to promote a culture of voluntary blood donation, strengthen community cohesion, and encourage social care, volunteerism, and public participation.
The organizers also thanked AEON Mall Kuching Central for sponsoring the venue, as well as the many companies supporting this humanitarian event, including: Borneo Solar Technologies Sdn Bhd, Lian Hua Seng Livestock Sdn Bhd, Podcast: Kepo Talk, Teraju Lestari Sdn Bhd, SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd, Bravo Network Distribution, and AIK Cheong Sdn Bhd.
The hosts call for all eligible members of the public to actively participate, emphasizing that "One blood donation may save a life and a family."
