General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, Kim Jong-un, on the 4th met with Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, who was visiting.
According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 5th, the two sides exchanged discussions on developing comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two countries, safeguarding common core interests, cooperation matters in various fields between the two nations, as well as regional and international situations, confirming a completely unanimous stance.
Kim Jong-un stated that North Korea will continue to support Russia's stance and foreign policy on international political issues, such as the Ukraine crisis, “unconditionally” and will responsibly fulfill the terms of the bilateral treaties between North Korea and Russia.
The report mentioned that Shoigu conveyed the special gratitude of the Russian leadership for the North Korean soldiers who participated in the operations to recover the Kursk region in Russia.
The report pointed out that during the meeting, both sides expressed the willingness of the leadership of the two countries to continue expanding and developing the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between North Korea and Russia.
