Sarawak Chinese New Year Gala Held Grandly, Conveying Harmony and Joy

(Miri, 20th) The Sarawak Chinese Association held the 2025 Yi Si Year Auspicious Snake New Year Gala last night at the banquet hall on the fifth floor of the Imperial Palace Hotel in Miri. The gala, themed "Celebrating the New Year Together · Composing a New Chapter of Harmony", brought together guests from all walks of life to celebrate this hopeful and joyous festival.

Lai Yit How, Chairman of the New Year Gala Preparatory Committee, stated in his welcoming speech that this gala is not only a celebration of the New Year but also an important moment of gathering strength, promoting Chinese culture, and showcasing the harmonious coexistence of diverse ethnic groups.

He pointed out that this year's gala theme "Auspicious Snake Presents New Year Reunion" has deep meaning, with "Auspicious Snake" symbolizing good fortune, prosperity, and harmony, acting as an emblem of wisdom, agility, and good luck. The word "Presents" conveys beautiful wishes for the new year, hoping everyone experiences prosperity in their careers and happiness in their families. Through the form of a "Grand Reunion", it expresses blessings and thanks to family, friends, and people from all sectors of society, while also conveying the belief in unity and the creation of a better future together.
