After her role in "The Duke of Mount Deer" in 2001, award-winning actress Shu Qi had since vanished from the Taiwanese drama scene until she recently announced her "comeback." She collaborates with Angelica Lee and Alyssa Chia, among others, in the new drama "Back to Life." As the series is about to be released, many stills have been unveiled recently, showing an atmosphere of suspense and eeriness, making it particularly suitable for brave drama enthusiasts. Reportedly, the story is set against a backdrop of a fraud and kidnapping case, exploring the journey of two mothers attempting to resurrect the fraud case leader who was executed, eventually embarking on a path of hatred and redemption, encountering crises amidst dark trials of human nature throughout the process.
In the drama, Shu Qi will challenge herself for the first time by playing the role of a mother, who treads the edge of moral boundaries, truly testing her acting skills. "Horror Queen" Angelica Lee also has a significant scene with Shu Qi in this series. She revealed in a previous interview that she plays a "never-before-portrayed extremely dark character," intending to provide fans with a completely different impression of her. Meanwhile, Golden Horse winner Alyssa Chia plays a lawyer, and with the plot full of twists and turns, she expressed that she thoroughly enjoyed her role and even felt reluctant to wrap up filming.
