(Miri, 18th) Henry Jugah, the head of the Lutong Fire and Rescue Department, stated that the department remains committed to the mission of serving the community, striving to create a harmonious and united atmosphere for the community, and calls for continued support for the department's development and construction projects.
Speaking at the department's early celebration of the 2024 Christmas and New Year party and farewell ceremony last night, he emphasized that this is not just a celebration but a bridge of emotion between the Lutong Fire and Rescue Department and the community, helping to enhance mutual connection and cooperation.
“The concept of family is inclusive in a broader perspective, and today is also our 'Family Day,' aimed at further consolidating relationships and cooperative spirit among members through this event.”He stated that since the establishment of the new Lutong Fire and Rescue Department a year and a half ago, various work plans and strategies are steadily advancing, and this close cooperation between departments and the community will continue to be a core value of the Lodong Fire Brigade.
During the farewell ceremony for auxiliary firefighter Aaron Daino Chundang Ak Jimmy, Henry Jugah specifically mentioned his contributions to the fire brigade during his one year and three months of service.
“We will always remember your efforts in extinguishing forest fires together with the team, especially the hard work during the fasting month. I hope you can carry the positive energy and valuable experience gained here to your new role, and wish you a bright future!”Additionally, Henry Jugah mentioned that the Lutong Fire and Rescue Department is currently constructing the "Al-Azhar Prayer Room" as a venue for community activities, religious education, and knowledge sharing. However, due to insufficient funds, the project has encountered bottlenecks in flooring, ceiling, and wiring installation. As a result, he has requested assistance from Deputy Minister of Women and Children Development in Sarawak, Dato' Rosey Yunus, to fill the funding gap through member of parliament allocations (MRP).
The event organized by the Lutong Fire and Rescue Department included Christmas and New Year celebrations, a staff birthday party, Family Day, and a farewell for auxiliary firefighter Aaron Daino Chundang. The aim was to enhance interaction and cooperation between the fire department and the community and to promote the spirit of multicultural coexistence in Sarawak through festive activities, attended by over 100 participants.
