Finnish police reported that a stabbing incident occurred in the center of the southern Finnish city of Tampere on the afternoon of the 3rd, resulting in four people injured but no fatalities. One suspect has been arrested.
Police stated that, according to currently available information, there is no reason to suspect the incident was motivated by terrorism or racism. The injured are receiving medical treatment, and further details are still under investigation.
Police said the incident took place outside a shopping center in downtown Tampere, adjacent to a major bus terminal. At around 4:23 p.m. local time, police received a report, rushed to the scene, and sealed off the surrounding area for investigation and evidence gathering.
According to eyewitnesses quoted by the media, the suspect raised both hands at the police's command and then lay on the ground without any resistance.
The incident caused traffic in Tampere city center to come to a standstill for several hours.
