(Miri, 9th) Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Sebastian Ting has secured a grant of 100,000 ringgit through the 2024 Rural Transformation Program to assist Kampung Silai in installing 18 street lights.
Miri City Councillor Leslie Lau , together with Miri City Council engineers, contractors, and community leaders, visited Kampung Silai yesterday to inspect the project and identify locations for the street light installations to provide a bright and safe environment for the local community.
Leslie Lau noted that this project, secured by Datuk Sebastian Ting through the 2024 Rural Transformation Program grant, aims to benefit the local population and has already completed the tender process.
He stated that the project, which costs 100,000 ringgit, includes the installation of 15 street lights and 3 large LED street lights, with the 3 larger lights installed at the turning sections of the village roads.
Earlier, Datuk Sebastian Ting had already allocated 150,000 ringgit to build two roads in Kampung Silai, which were completed and opened to traffic in September last year.
