Chinese Man Who Went Missing After Falling into Sea at Second Malaysia-Singapore Link—Body Discovered in Indonesian Waters

The body of the 33-year-old man who went missing after falling into the sea at the Second Malaysia-Singapore Link for five days was found by Indonesian police in neighboring Indonesian waters on Friday (2nd) night. At the time of discovery, the victim was still wearing the work uniform from the night of the incident.

According to sources, Indonesian police discovered a male body in the relevant waters at 11:30pm on Friday. After identity verification, it was confirmed to be 33-year-old deceased, Zheng Guoqiang. When his body was discovered, he was still wearing the work uniform he had on when he fell into the sea on the night of the incident.

Additionally, when approached by the media, the deceased's wife confirmed the bad news that her husband’s body had been found, and revealed that she is currently handling the subsequent matters, such as arranging to claim her husband's remains.

Earlier reports stated that the incident occurred around 8:00pm last Sunday (December 28th, last year) at the Second Malaysia-Singapore Link, 1.3 kilometers towards Singapore.

Zheng Guoqiang, who worked as a bus driver in Singapore, fell into the sea from the Second Malaysia-Singapore Link bridge and left a letter apologizing to his child.

The deceased and his wife had three children; their eldest daughter is 8 years old, and the youngest son is only 2.

The deceased’s wife disclosed earlier that her husband was suspected of suffering from depression and believed that he had been under great pressure recently due to problems at work and in his personal life. Her husband had already submitted his resignation to the bus company in Singapore earlier.
