The website of the Royal Thai Government Gazette announced on the 31st a royal decree declaring that King Maha Vajiralongkorn has given royal assent to the new cabinet list submitted by Prime Minister Anutin.
According to the decree, the new cabinet has 35 members. Anutin will serve as both Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, with seven other Deputy Prime Ministers. Most important positions continue to be held by members of the previous government cabinet.
Sihasak will serve as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Supachai as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce; Ainiti as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; and the post of Minister of Defence will be held by Athon.
On the 19th of this month, Anutin, the Prime Ministerial candidate nominated by the Bhumjaithai Party, received more than half the votes in the Thai House of Representatives election, and was re-elected as Prime Minister of Thailand. Anutin previously said that the cabinet needs to be formed as soon as possible so that the new government can begin addressing current crises facing Thailand, such as energy shortages.
