(Ipoh, 29th) The Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayub Khan points out that most suspects arrested in the "Pedophilia Operation" (Op Pedo) on December 23 claimed they were unaware that possessing, storing, and distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) is illegal.

He said this reason is unreasonable because the relevant authorities have repeatedly issued statements classifying this behavior as a violent crime.

“The police will continue to identify individuals involved in these activities, including those who possess or distribute pornographic materials.

“This operation, conducted jointly with the Communications and Multimedia Commission, will continue to intensify efforts to trace the remaining individuals involved in CSAM.”

He said this to reporters after the closing ceremony of the police Criminal Investigation Division’s Future Leaders Program today.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razaludin mentioned on December 24 that the police arrested 13 suspects aged between 20 and 74 possessing CSAM on the 23rd at 18 locations in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Perak, Johor, and Terengganu.
