(City, 28th) The 2025 World Minnan Language Golden Melody Awards Ceremony and the Cross-Strait Minnan Language Music Awards Brunei Audition will be grandly held on August 23 (Saturday) at 7:15 PM on the 8th floor banquet hall of the Mulia Hotel.
The registration deadline is August 2, and music enthusiasts are encouraged to participate actively and join in the event.
This competition is hosted by Brunei Star Entertainment Production. The top two winners from the Brunei audition will have the opportunity to represent Brunei at the World Minnan Language Golden Melody Awards Ceremony and the Cross-Strait Minnan Language Music Awards in Xiamen, China, from October 22 to November 2, competing for substantial prizes and international honors.
Brunei Star Entertainment Production head, Cai Xinzhe, stated that this year's competition has specially invited experienced vocal coaches from West Malaysia as judges to ensure the professionalism and fairness of the competition.
This year's Brunei audition only has 30 slots, on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration is considered successful based on the receipt of complete registration forms and fees by the organizers.
He said the purpose of organizing this event is to discover local singing talent, enhance cultural exchanges between countries, and promote healthy and positive recreational activities. The competition is open to residents with valid Brunei ID cards, with no age restriction.
Participants must sing Minnan (Fujian) songs. The registration fee is BND 50 (including buffet). Participants must submit their entry song within the specified time or check in one hour in advance; latecomers will be deemed to have forfeited. Participants must complete the registration form and pay the registration fee. Participants must provide their own original VCD, DVD, USB, or MP3 audio source, and the organizers are not responsible for issues caused by sound equipment failures.
The prizes and awards are set as follows:
• Champion: BND 500 and a trophy
• Runner-up: BND 300 and a trophy
• Second runner-up: BND 200 and a trophy
• Fourth place: BND 100 and a trophy
• Top eight: BND 50 and a trophy each
• Stage Presence Award, Costume Award: BND 50 and a trophy each
All participants will receive an encouragement trophy as recognition.
The top two winners in the Brunei district will have their travel expenses to participate in the competition in Xiamen, China, covered by the organizers. Participants must fully comply with the schedule and arrangements for the global finals. If they fail to do so, the organizers have the right to seek relevant compensation.
The judges' decision is final, and any objections, complaints, or appeals will not be entertained.
All participants must wear formal competition attire to receive awards on stage, as a sign of respect for the event and the organizers.
The organizers will not be responsible for the personal property and safety of participants and reserve the right to make changes to and interpret the details of the competition. All participants must also cooperate with the publicity activities arranged by the organizers.
