Colonel Li Jianjian, Air Force spokesperson for the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, stated on the 21st that three small Philippine planes—an islander aircraft, a C-208, and a PA-31T—illegally entered Chinese airspace over Huangyan Island on that day without approval from the Chinese government.

He said that the Southern Theater Command of the PLA organized naval and air forces to track, monitor, and issue warnings according to laws and regulations.

Li Jianjian stated that the actions of the Philippine side severely infringed on China’s sovereignty and could easily cause misunderstanding and miscalculation.

He said: "We sternly warn the Philippine side to immediately stop their infringement and provocations. The theater command troops remain on high alert at all times, resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and regional peace and stability."
