Fàn Wěiqí Threatens Legal Action Across the Sea After Being Implicated as 'Spreading Illness to Big S'

Published at Feb 25, 2025 04:15 pm
Big S (Xu Xiyuan) passed away in Japan due to complications from H1N1 flu leading to sepsis at the age of 48. Many netizens pointed fingers towards the couple Blackie Chen and Fàn Wěiqí, suspecting them as potential sources of infection after attending the homecoming banquet of Wang Weizhong's daughter. In response to these unfounded accusations online, Fàn Wěiqí not only shared a conversation with her doctor to defend herself but also issued a statement through her lawyer emphatically addressing the accusations from netizens.

Previously, Fàn Wěiqí shared a screenshot of a conversation with her doctor on IG, where the doctor clarified that she did not have the flu but a two-month cough, suspected to be a Mycoplasma infection. The doctor emphasized, "Therefore, it is not you who transmitted the illness, and I hope you won’t blame yourselves. Take care of yourselves." Fàn Wěiqí wrote in her post: "My best friend has left forever, and I really hope there can be less malice in this world, even just a little," though the post was later deleted.

The deceased has passed on, but false rumors continue to spread online. "Shan He Music Culture," responsible for organizing Fàn Wěiqí's tour in China, commissioned the Beijing Zai Shi Law Firm to issue a statement saying that since early February 2025, certain online accounts have been disseminating and fabricating false information concerning Fàn Wěiqí and her relatives, seriously harming the individual's mental state, reputation, and image. The law firm emphasized that they have collected evidence of these slanderous articles, and if netizens continue their infringing behavior, they will take legal action to protect the individual's rights.
