(Bandar Seri Begawan, 14th) The construction of five new houses under the Sultan Foundation (YAYASAN) Housing Assistance Program officially commenced on Friday with a ceremony held at Ame Village on Jalan Batang Duri, Temburong.
The ceremony was held at the residence of one of the beneficiaries, Rokiah.
Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence Pehin Datu Halbi attended as the guest of honor, who is also the Chairman of the Sultan Foundation Board of Directors.
The project is expected to be completed by March 2025 and includes two modern bungalow designs - two-bedroom and three-bedroom models - incorporating current technology and meeting low-cost housing needs.
The foundation is making efforts to ensure that these houses are ready for beneficiaries to move in before next year's Hari Raya, allowing them to comfortably celebrate in their new homes.
The housing program targets individuals and families in poverty, particularly those living in insecure and dilapidated environments. It aims to improve their quality of life by providing safe and modern housing, thereby enhancing their social, economic, and overall well-being.
The program aligns with the Sultan Foundation's mission to improve the quality of life for the people, with a focus on basic needs such as housing.
