(Bandar Seri Begawan, 26th) Unified National Networks (UNN) recently donated two Gran Max vehicles in a ceremony held at the Brunei Autism Association (BACA Centre).
During the donation ceremony, Dato Kairuddin and SMARTER Brunei President Pengiran Zainri also unveiled a new signboard for the centre.
In his speech, Pengiran Zainri stated: “We are truly grateful for this meaningful donation, which comes at just the right moment. Most of our vans used for transporting students have broken down, causing daily challenges for many families.”
Due to insufficient funds, after moving into the building donated by the Ministry of Health in Sungai Hanching, we were unable to provide signage, and our centre's offices and classrooms are also facing a shortage of furniture.”
“This challenge has begun to affect the quality and continuity of our programmes, which are crucial for the students’ progress and development,” he said.
Pengiran Zainri further explained that UNN’s support not only helped them resolve their immediate difficulties, but also enabled them to sustain their programmes and continue providing a safe, orderly, and supportive environment.
“This collaboration proves that joint efforts can truly make a difference in the lives of people with autism and their families in Brunei Darussalam.” he added.
Additionally, on the 25th, a handover ceremony for 100 sets of furniture was held at the EDGE Centre in Mata-Mata, where SMARTER Brunei received 100 sets of donated furniture, including office desks, armchairs, tables, mobile drawer cabinets, sofas, cupboards, conference tables, and reception counters. In September, Malou Radovan, Clinical Practice Director of SMARTER Brunei, accepted the donated items.
UNN deeply recognises the importance of supporting organisations like SMARTER Brunei in overcoming financial and social challenges.
Through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes — such as the Ramadan Charity Drive (RCD), the Youth Network Intelligence project, Core Values project, and Health and Wellbeing project — UNN continues to leverage its resources and expertise to help these organisations expand their impact, implement innovative solutions, and achieve greater influence.
