Israeli Defense Minister Katz said on social media on the 30th that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) must now make a choice: either accept the ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States or “be eliminated.”
According to reports from Xinhua, Katz stated that the Israeli military is making every effort to conduct military operations in the Gaza Strip to destroy Hamas bases while evacuating all civilians in the war zone. Afterwards, the Israeli military will continue to hold these areas. This method will enable Israel to achieve its war goals of releasing all hostages and defeating Hamas.
An official from the White House stated on the 29th that Israel has accepted a 60-day temporary ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip put forward by the United States. On the same evening, a senior Hamas official issued a statement saying that Hamas had received Israel's response to the ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip, but the response did not consider the Palestinian side's demands.
French President: Palestinian Statehood “is a Political Requirement”
Additionally, French President Macron stated on the 30th that Palestinian statehood is “not only a moral obligation but also a political requirement.”
Macron made this statement during a press conference held during his visit to Singapore. He also outlined some prerequisites, including the disarmament of Hamas, the reform of the Palestinian National Authority, and the recognition of Israel after the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Macron also mentioned that if Israel does not respond appropriately to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip in the short term, Europe should collectively take a tougher stand against Israel, including stopping relevant cooperation and imposing sanctions, stating that “this is a necessity today.”
