(Miri, 19th) Miri Gong Xi Bazaar CNY Run 3.0 held its flag-off ceremony last night at the Old Resident Office.

The guest of honor, Sarawak Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, said at the event that organizing it for 21 years is no easy feat, and with an increase every year, he hopes it will continue to grow bigger in the future.

He said that Sarawak is unique, with various ethnicities and cultures, so besides wishing each other well, everyone should also respect the festivals of other ethnic groups.

"The New Year is a happy festival, and everyone is welcome to participate. It is hoped that through more promotion, such as introducing tourism packages, more people will come to Miri to celebrate the New Year, thereby strengthening the local economy."

On the other hand, Co-organising Chairman Vincent Lu expressed in his welcoming speech that the flag-off ceremony holds profound symbolic significance. It not only marks the beginning of our run today but also symbolizes a new start, new opportunities, and the determination to face challenges. Like life's journey, this race will have ups and downs, but with every step forward, our will becomes more determined, bringing us closer to success.

"The meaning of our run has transcended the individual level. We run as a group, for the power of unity, for the spirit of perseverance, unity, and dedication. These are also the important values we emphasize when celebrating the New Year. Through this running event, we are not only pursuing health, happiness, and prosperity, but also reminding ourselves that when we are united, we can create a better future."

He pointed out that this event is not just a challenge of speed or distance; it is an opportunity to break through oneself and continuously transcend. Whether you are looking to set a personal record, enjoy a leisurely jog, or cheer for friends and family, your participation reflects the resilience and determination of our community.

"Of course, none of this would be possible without the hard work of the team behind the scenes. On behalf of the Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all partners, volunteers, and organizers. It is your hard work that has made this event a success. Your support is the driving force that propels us forward!"

He said, standing at the starting line, I hope every participant can embrace the spirit of the New Year as they embark on the journey ahead, cherish the friendships along the way, and celebrate the victory of crossing the finish line. This is not just a race, but a celebration of life, community, and the infinite possibilities of the New Year.

It is reported that this year's event was attended by over 400 people.
