(Kuching, Jan 2) Deputy Prime Minister and Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof pointed out that the flood situation in the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency in Kuching has improved, and water levels have begun to recede to normal levels.

He disclosed that the two temporary evacuation centers in the constituency, namely the Kampung Segedup Hajji Kamarudin Hall and Selangau National School temporary evacuation centers, have officially closed, and all evacuees have been allowed to return home.

During an interview after inspecting the Kampung Segedup temporary evacuation center in Auchin, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof noted that residents returning home who are unable to clean their houses by themselves can request support from relevant units to expedite recovery work.

"Everyone can now go home. If help is needed for cleaning, lack of manpower, or insufficient physical strength, they can contact the evacuation center secretariat or PBB, especially in the constituencies belonging to the party. We will arrange volunteers, particularly the PBB Youth Wing, to assist affected families in cleaning their homes."
The Deputy Prime Minister and Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof went to the temporary evacuation center to address the needs of the victims.

It is understood that a total of 60 people from 25 families were placed at the Kampung Segedup Hajji Kamarudin Hall temporary evacuation center, and 178 people from 68 families were housed at the Selangau National School temporary evacuation center, and they have now been allowed to return to their respective homes.

He expressed gratitude to all rescue agencies, praising their tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of evacuation and rescue operations.
