Li Xi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, visited Greece at the invitation of the New Democracy Party. He introduced China’s anti-corruption work and the CPC’s efforts in strict party governance, expressing willingness to exchange and cooperate with the Greek side on anti-corruption initiatives.
The Chinese state media People’s Daily reported that, at the invitation of Greece’s New Democracy Party, Li Xi led a CPC delegation on an official goodwill visit to Greece from Wednesday (September 17) to Saturday (September 20), and met in Athens with Greek President Tasoulas, Speaker Kaklamanis, Deputy Prime Minister Hatzidakis, and New Democracy Party Secretary-General Skrekas.
During his meeting with Tasoulas, Li Xi stated that, under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Greek leaders, the China-Greece comprehensive strategic partnership has made significant progress. Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, and China is willing to join hands with Greece to fulfill this.
Li Xi also outlined China’s anti-corruption efforts, emphasizing that under the core leadership of Xi Jinping, the CPC Central Committee adheres to the principles of no-privileged zones, full coverage, and zero tolerance. China is promoting “dare not corrupt, cannot corrupt, and do not want to corrupt” in an integrated manner, having carried out an unprecedented anti-corruption campaign and successfully forging a path of anti-corruption with Chinese characteristics. China is willing to share and cooperate on anti-corruption work with Greece.
The report quotes Tasoulas as expressing his admiration for the CPC’s determination to fight corruption and saying that Greece is willing to strengthen anti-corruption cooperation with China.
In his meeting with Skrekas, Li Xi introduced the CPC’s full and rigorous governance over the Party, saying that the CPC Central Committee has incorporated comprehensive and strict party governance into the “Four Comprehensives” strategic plan. By formulating and implementing the Central Eight-Point Regulation as a starting point, adhering to the principle of grasping party spirit, party conduct, and party discipline together, and advancing the alignment of party conduct, discipline and anti-corruption, the CPC has won the sincere support of the people.
