(Berlin, 26th) — On the evening of the 25th, a car rammed into the crowd at Berlin's famous Pride parade, resulting in 1 death and at least 15 injuries.

AFP reports that the suspect's identity has been confirmed but he has not yet been arrested; it is believed that the suspect is linked to "Islamist circles."

According to a police spokesperson, an abandoned vehicle was found several hundred meters away from the center of the parade celebrations, and a manhunt is currently underway throughout the German capital.

The incident occurred near the end point of the parade route, at Tiergarten Park.

Before the incident, hundreds of thousands had gathered peacefully in the German capital, Berlin, to take part in the annual Christopher Street Day parade, one of the largest LGBTQ events in Europe, but the event was forced to come to a halt because of this incident.

Police said: "According to our latest information, the car entered Tiergarten Park at around 10 p.m. (4 a.m. Malaysian time), injuring several people along the way, and finally came to a stop after crashing into a tree inside the park."

Berlin Mayor Wegner said on social platform X that the city's "freedom was attacked in the most terrible way," and that "this gathering for an inclusive and peaceful Berlin was subjected to an extremely brutal attack."
