(Reported from Miri 16th) The Miri Guang Hui Zhao Association Women's Group and Youth Group co-hosted the 2025 "Parents' Day Dinner" and the Member's Children's Academic Excellence Award Ceremony last night at the banquet hall on the fifth floor of the Miri Imperial Palace Hotel. The theme was "A Grateful Heart, Family Affection Forever," creating a warm and grand atmosphere overflowing with gratitude and family affection.
The event aimed to promote the traditional Chinese culture of filial piety, express gratitude for the nurturing of parents, and encourage the next generation to continue pursuing excellence in academics. The event also specially arranged for the awarding of academic excellence grants to the children of members to encourage them.
During her report, the academic director of the Guang Hui Zhao Association, Chen Cui Ling, pointed out that last year, more than 80 member children received awards, whereas this year, 111 students benefited, showing a significant increase in numbers, demonstrating greater academic progress among the members' children.
She expressed that they would continue to encourage the children to study hard, and the association would not hesitate to reward any eligible child, ensuring everyone, young and old, will receive an award.
The chairperson of the organizing committee, Gao Cui Ping, expressed in her speech that she was very honored to be invited as the chairperson of the organizing committee for this dinner and expressed gratitude to the Director of the Women's Group, Chen Cai Hong, for the recommendation.
"I am grateful that we've learned to cherish our feelings, thank our parents for their selfless dedication, appreciate the support and companionship of siblings, and be grateful for the tolerance and understanding of family members."
She emphasized that family affection always persists, no matter the distance or the changes of time, the concerns of family members remain consistent.
She also conveyed high respect to the organizing committee members, thanking them for their hard work and cooperation, which allowed the evening banquet to proceed smoothly.
She said the programs everyone watched tonight were presented by the Women’s Group Entertainment Section and the Youth Committee, thanking them for their time rehearsing dances and assisting with the various preparatory work.
Attendees included Miri Guang Hui Zhao Association President Huang Yun Xiang, Deputy President Liang Shao Jun, Honorary President Ben Man Cha Feng Zhao Ming, Councilor Song Zhi Fu, Women’s Group Director Chen Cai Hong, and Youth Group Leader Yu Wei Shun, among others.
