The Iran Martyrs' Revolution Leader Memorial Committee announced on the 22nd that the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies for the late Supreme Spiritual Leader Khamenei will be held starting July 4 in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad.
At a press conference, committee spokesperson Attarzadeh stated that more than 100 days have passed since Khamenei was killed in an attack. Preparations had been completed earlier, but the timing of the ceremonies was postponed due to developments in the war, enemy attacks, and to ensure public safety.
Attarzadeh said the route for the funeral procession in Tehran has been finalized, and specific arrangements will be announced by the relevant authorities in the coming days. Administrative and service institutions nationwide in Iran have all participated in the preparation of the ceremonies.
He stated that, according to current plans, on July 7 the funeral and related mourning activities for Khamenei and his family members will be held in Qom. At the request of various circles in Iraq, funeral processions will also take place on July 8 in the Shiite holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, with specific times and locations to be announced separately by the Iraqi side. On July 9, the funeral procession and burial ceremony will be held in the holy city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.
