U.S. Trade Representative Greer anticipates that President Trump will sign more trade agreements with Southeast Asian countries during his upcoming visit to Asia later this month.

In an interview with Fox Business News on Tuesday, he said: "The President will visit Asia at the end of October, and we expect to sign some of these agreements at that time."

He stated that the U.S. government has previously previewed some high-level details regarding the agreements, and it is expected that Trump will make a formal announcement.

Greer, who has just returned from Malaysia, said that he met with representatives from Southeast Asian countries there, and these nations are "all ready to formally finalize agreements with the United States and open up their markets."

It is still unclear whether the agreements Greer referred to are previously concluded deals or new ones.

The 47th ASEAN Summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 26 to 28, while the APEC Leaders’ Summit will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea from October 31 to November 1, with Trump attending both events.
