(Kuching, 5th) Stampin Member of Parliament Chong Chieng Jen delivered warmth today by handing over a grant cheque of RM40,000 to the Sarawak Teochew Association Tze Hsia Ko Dialysis Foundation. This is to assist the foundation in purchasing a new dialysis machine to provide dialysis treatment to patients in need, thereby saving more lives.
Chong Chieng Jen stated that with the increasing number of dialysis patients, the foundation's existing dialysis equipment is insufficient to meet the growing demand. Therefore, upon learning that the foundation is expanding its dialysis services and needs to purchase more equipment to enhance its services, he readily agreed to offer help. Today, he handed over the grant cheque to the foundation's head and founder, as well as the chairman of the Sarawak Teochew Association Tze Hsia Ko Dialysis Foundation, Dato Sri Ding Tee Kou.
He praised the foundation for providing dialysis treatment services tirelessly for thousands of multiracial patients under the leadership of Dato Ding Tee Kou for 27 years, and for offering free dialysis treatment to underprivileged patients, demonstrating his selfless and great love, saving countless lives.
He expressed his gratification that the foundation is currently constructing a new medical center on the vacant land in front of its dialysis center building to offer more comprehensive medical services.
Chong Chieng Jen revealed that he had previously allocated funds to purchase a dialysis machine for the foundation to contribute his small effort in helping the foundation to better provide treatment for patients in need. Meanwhile, his service center also offers dialysis subsidies to dialysis patients within the Stampin constituency to reduce their financial burden, with many beneficiaries receiving treatment at the foundation's dialysis center.
He hopes that this grant can act as a catalyst, inspiring a warm response from all sectors of society and encouraging them to join the foundation's charitable activities to help more patients in need, collectively creating a caring society.
It is reported that the Tze Hsia Ko Dialysis Foundation was established in 2009 and has provided affordable dialysis treatment for patients of all races, religions, or beliefs over the years. To date, more than 9,200 dialysis patients have benefited from its services. At the same time, the foundation also provides free dialysis services for patients unable to afford treatment costs.
Due to the continuous increase in the number of dialysis patients, the Tze Hsia Ko Dialysis Center is also expanding its scale and needs more funding to purchase dialysis machines, each costing RM40,000.
Those accompanying the cheque handover ceremony included Chong Chieng Jen's father Chong Siew Chiang, the deputy head of Sarawak Teochew Association Tze Hsia Ko, Lawyer Chen Qi Xing, Treasurer Liu Jun Liang, and Deputy Treasurer Zhao Yao Feng.
