Zhang Jianren Allocates Funds to 4 Fire Victims in Batu Kawa RPR After Pre-Festival Blaze

(Kuching, 26th) A devastating fire destroyed several terraced houses on the eve of the festive season; Zhang Jianren urgently allocates funds to help 4 affected families through this difficult time!
 
  On the eve of Gawai Dayak, a fire broke out yesterday afternoon at Lorong 18, Phase 1 of Batu Kawa RPR, destroying five terraced houses. Two families suffered severe damage and were left homeless and in distress.
 
  Sim Jielong, special assistant to Stampin MP Zhang Jianren, received a report and immediately rushed to the scene to assess the situation.

 

According to his understanding, the fire started at the first corner house, which was unoccupied, and rapidly spread to the second and third houses due to the hot weather. Fortunately, the fire department arrived in time and did their utmost to contain the fire, preventing further spread. However, the second-floor ceilings of the fourth and fifth houses were still affected, resulting in holes and leaks, rendering their second floors temporarily uninhabitable. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this fire.

According to local residents, the first house was uninhabited for a long time, turning into a hangout for drug users.
 
Faced with the sudden fire, Sim Jielong said the owners and tenants of the 4 affected households were caught off guard and didn’t know what to do. Moreover, with Gawai Dayak approaching and the tragedy occurring right before the festivities, their anxiety was especially heightened.
 
In light of the misfortune occurring just before the festival, he immediately explained their predicament to Zhang Jianren, who instructed the use of emergency funds. Sim Jielong then quickly returned to the scene, personally handing over aid funds to help the four families through this difficult period.
 
Unexpectedly, after the fire, it started to rain heavily that afternoon. Braving the rain, Sim Jielong and his team brought the checks, delivering them personally to the victims and offering their condolences. The affected families were deeply grateful to Zhang Jianren and Sim Jielong’s team for their timely assistance, emotionally saying: "Thank you for working tirelessly, caring about our situation, and for bringing us checks to help us through this hardship."
 
After handing over the aid, Sim Jielong stated that the assistance is mainly for the four affected households, with two of them suffering severe damage and having nowhere to live. Therefore, Zhang Jianren quickly used emergency funds so that these four families could use the aid to temporarily resolve their food and accommodation needs.
