Prior to Trump’s arrival, US Treasury Secretary Bessent and UK Chancellor Reeves jointly announced the establishment of a "Transatlantic Working Group" to deepen cooperation between the world’s two major financial centers.
The UK hopes to use this state visit to refocus on geopolitics and investment, position the country as a destination for US investment, and promote its financial services, technology, and energy sectors' integration with the US, aiming to boost much-needed economic growth.
Microsoft has stated it will invest $30 billion in the UK over the next four years; Google has announced a £5 billion (around RM2.86 billion) investment over the next two years, with part of the funds going towards construction of a new data center near London to meet the needs of artificial intelligence services.
Business leaders such as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are expected to announce investment deals worth billions of dollars.
As part of the "Tech Prosperity Agreement," the UK and US governments have also agreed to cooperate in the fields of nuclear technology and space technology.
