(Kuching, 27th) Jerome Etame scored four goals to help Kuching City FC secure their first win of the season with a stunning 6-0 victory over Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) in the Unifi Super League match held last night at the Cheras Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium.
This decisive win earned "The Cats" their first three points of the season. Etame found the net in the 25th, 48th, 52nd, and stoppage-time (93rd minute); the other two goals were scored by Ajdin Mujagic in the 4th and 59th minutes.
Kuching City played the entire second half with only 10 men after James Okwuosa was shown a red card for fouling an opposing player in the 45th minute.
Kuching City took the lead just four minutes into the game when Mujagic headed in a cross from Petrus Shitembi. In the 25th minute, Etame added another goal with an assist from James, doubling the lead to 2-0.
Despite being a man down, Kuching City's attack remained relentless. Just three minutes into the second half, Etame scored again; in the 52nd minute, he slotted in a rebound off a shot by Wenzel Halls to complete his hat-trick.
In the 59th minute, Mujagic converted a pass from Wenzel, extending the score to 5-0. In stoppage time, Etame scored his fourth goal of the night with a header from a cross by Joao Pedro, sealing a dominant 6-0 victory for Kuching City.
Kuching City also made several substitutions during the match. Early in the second half, Gabriel Peres replaced Safawi Rashid; in the 64th minute, Ramadhan and Ahmad Israiwah came on to replace Aliff Farhan and Shitembi respectively.
In the 71st minute, Ronald Ngah Wanja and Diego Baggio replaced Mujagic and Wenzel respectively.

However, about three hours before kickoff, KL City received special permission from the Malaysian Football League (MFL) and managed to register at least 12 players for the match against Kuching City.
