Hong Kong film star Louis Koo opened a Threads account this January to promote the movie "A Step into the Past," quickly attracting a large number of followers. However, on the 10th, he suddenly released a statement via the official Instagram of his management company "One Cool Group," pointing out that recently, a Threads user had impersonated his assistant and even organized events in Koo’s name. The company promptly spoke out to clarify and remind the public not to fall for scams.
According to the statement, a user named "Chen Lin" on Threads has been claiming to be Koo’s assistant “Little Chen” and even posted a so-called “Beyblade Giveaway” activity, sparking considerable discussion among netizens. In response, the management company emphasized that neither Louis Koo nor the company has ever employed anyone named "Little Chen" as an assistant or in any other position. Any statements, actions, or posts from this person are in no way related to the official team, and they urge the public not to be misled.
Furthermore, the company specifically denied all information circulating online about the event, stating that it has never held or authorized anyone to hold a “Beyblade Giveaway” activity, directly asserting that all such content is completely fabricated and appears to be a deliberate attempt to exploit the celebrity’s fame to mislead fans. The statement also notes that such impersonation has already affected Louis Koo’s reputation and public trust, and therefore both the company and Koo himself reserve the right to pursue legal action.
In fact, since Louis Koo began actively using Threads this year, he has repeatedly made headlines. He once jokingly said, “I am the PR team, and the PR team is me,” emphasizing that the account is operated personally, which spurred enthusiastic discussion among fans. Now, with imposters taking the opportunity to post and organize events in his name, the company has taken the unusual step of issuing a stern public statement. They concluded by reminding fans once again that all official activities or announcements will only be made through official channels and to avoid believing suspicious information in order to prevent possible financial loss.
