4-person bench shared electric scooter? A dangerous scene recently appeared on the streets of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. Four teenagers placed a park bench horizontally on a shared electric scooter. They even sat logically according to their weights to maintain balance, but they still wobbled precariously while riding in the middle of the road, creating a thrilling spectacle.

According to a report by Shangguan News, a netizen recently spotted a single-person shared electric scooter carrying four people on the streets of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, drawing attention. The video shows a park bench placed on the scooter's seat, with four young men sitting on the bench riding along. The bench wobbles as the scooter moves, and any bump could cause the four to fall off together.

The four teenagers involved had just graduated from elementary to junior high school and were all under 16 years old. After the video was exposed, the local traffic police summoned the teenagers and their parents. One of the teens admitted in a low voice that they just thought it was fun at the time and didn’t think much about it.

Another teenager explained that the park bench was picked up; they placed the bench on the shared electric scooter's seat, and had the heaviest teen sit in the middle, with the lighter ones sitting on each end, so as to maintain balance.

According to China’s “Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law,” one must be at least 16 years old to operate an electric scooter, and carrying more passengers than allowed is strictly prohibited to prevent the vehicle from going out of control. In addition, China’s Civil Code clearly states that if minors cause harm to others due to dangerous riding, their guardians bear tort liability.

Considering this was the first offense for the four teenagers, police gave them a stern warning and required both the children and parents to sign a traffic safety pledge, promising to comply with traffic regulations and avoid dangerous behaviors. The incident has also sparked public attention, with many netizens criticizing the parents for lax supervision and calling for stronger traffic safety education for minors.
