(Switzerland, 2nd) An explosion occurred on the 1st at a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana, resulting in about 40 deaths and 115 injuries. On the evening of the 1st, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, according to the latest statistics, 9 French citizens were injured and another 8 French citizens are missing with their families. The French side has begun receiving the wounded transported in for treatment.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the identification of the victims is still ongoing, and it is not yet certain whether any of the victims are French nationals.
A spokesperson for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that a total of 12 to 15 Italian citizens were injured in the tragedy, among whom 3 suffered severe burns and will be sent back to Italy for treatment; 16 Italian citizens are still missing.
On the evening of the 1st, French President Macron stated that he had spoken with Swiss Federal President Parmelin that day to express France's solidarity and support for Switzerland. Macron revealed that some of the injured from the fire have been received by hospitals in France, and France stands ready to provide further assistance to Switzerland at any time.
